  • McDonald's Animated Video Display


       McDonald's Corp., Oak Brook, Ill., introduced its first full-length home video starring Ronald McDonald in October to consumers at participating McDonald's restaurants nationwide. The 40-minute video was available for $3.49 with any purchase. "Scared Silly" was the first video in the series to be introduced. Another will be introduced early this year and the third during the summer. Customers were made aware of the offer with P-O-P materials that included window graphics, counter cards, floor graphics and in-store signage.

    Comments: Due to the unique nature of the product line -- baked cookies for dogs -- this display had to stand out in a retail environment A bakery cart theme was adopted to provide a link to the human market, part of the marketing concept behind the product. The durable wood construction and functional wooden wheels allow it to be moved easily to either endcap or freestanding display locations.

The table has vacuum-formed, two-sided litho graphics and a multi-tiered tabletop that creates the dimensional effect of graduated elevation. Casters and adjustable wings allow for placement in a variety of store locations. Assembly can be accomplished within ten minutes.
