As plant-based eating increases in popularity among consumers, Aldi is launching a new vegetarian and vegan private-label line of foods called Earth Grown.The Earth Grown products are all meat-free, and those marked as vegan are also free from other animal products including eggs, dairy, and gelatin. This news comes shortly after the release of plant-based ice creams at Aldi.The new products include Asian veggie burgers, meatless jumbo hot dogs, soy protein burgers, southwest quinoa crunch burgers, chickenless patties, chickenless tenders, meatless meatballs, and vegan mozzarella style shreds. All products range in price from $2.49 to $3.89, according to Aldi’s website.Last fall Aldi launched grocery delivery in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles, with plans to expand it to other cities in the future.Aldi also has been expanding its selection of organic food and remodeling stores to take on competitors such as Lidl."Our partnership with Instacart is another example of Aldi expanding our commitment to customer convenience and value," said Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi.
