7-Eleven’s top marketing executive, Marissa Jarratt, has reportedly stepped down from the convenience retailer, according to an internal memo seen by and first reported by C-Store Dive.

Jarratt, executive vice president and chief marketing and sustainability officer, announced her departure internally on Nov. 19, with her final day at the company listed as Jan. 2, according to the memo reviewed by C-Store Dive. Neither Jarratt nor a 7-Eleven spokesperson has publicly commented on the move, and the company has not formally announced the leadership change, though Jarratt is no longer listed on 7-Eleven’s leadership webpage.

The departure comes during a period of broader transition at the world’s largest convenience store chain. Jarratt’s exit coincided with the retirement of longtime CEO Joseph DePinto, who led the company for more than two decades, and ahead of a year expected to bring significant change, including a planned initial public offering.

Jarratt’s departure is notable given her central role in shaping 7-Eleven’s modern marketing, loyalty and retail media strategies.

She joined 7-Eleven in 2019 as SVP, chief marketing officer, when the retailer was going through a major transformation. In that time, she's spearheaded major brand campaigns and helped advance the retailer’s “Immediate Consumption Ecosystem," including its digital loyalty ecosystem and retail media ambitions with the Gulp Media Network

Jarratt was also a frequent industry thought leader, appearing at conferences and events, such as the Path to Purchase Institute’s 2025 Retail Media Summit in Chicago, where she discussed 7-Eleven’s Immediate Consumption Ecosystem and how brands could better adapt shopper marketing strategies to the unique dynamics of the convenience channel. She was also inducted into P2PI's Hall of Fame in 2022. We detailed her work at 7-Eleven and career as a whole here.

Responsibilities Split Across Executives

According to the internal memo cited by C-Store Dive, Jarratt’s responsibilities are being divided between two executives.

The marketing organization now reports to Raghu Mahadevan, previously EVP of demand chain and chief digital officer, whose title has since been updated on its website to chief digital, demand chain and marketing officer.

Meanwhile, corporate communications and sustainability functions will report to Treasa Bowers, formerly chief human resources officer, now EVP, chief people and sustainability officer.

Additionally, following DePinto’s retirement, Stan Reynolds and Doug Rosencrans are listed as interim co-CEO’s.

Jarratt’s departure marks a meaningful inflection point for brands and partners that have leaned into the retailer’s evolving media, loyalty and innovation platforms.
