Rhino Records, Los Angeles, recently launched "Go Simpsonic With The Simpsons: More Original Music From The Television Series." The launch follows the successful sales of the first soundtrack, "Songs In The Key of Springfield," and features original songs, themes and under-score music. To spur sales of the new recording, the company created colorful P-O-P materials that accompanied the CD's launch in music retail stores and bookstores where music is sold.

Comments: The "Let's Play School" display was designed to introduce a new video in mass merchants and specialty stores. Flexibility was needed, and this unit can accommodate 18,24, 36 or 48 counts of video product. Removable pockets and plastic hooks enable it to also offer audiotapes, stuffed toys and DVDs. Still, the unit was designed to fit in a shipper under 84 inches in girth. More than 14,000 units were sold in, doubling company projections.

  • Disney Tarzan Floorstand

Phoenix Display, a Company of International Paper
    Walt Disney Records
Comments: This floorstand's design allows CDs to be stocked side-by-side as the centerpiece of the display, creating the illusion that Tarzan is peeking out. The ability to stock more than 120 CDs helped Disney break into Wal-Mart and Kmart stores with a display of this type for the first time. Four-color printing was used to bring to life the vibrant greens and browns predominant in Tarzan's jungle.
