    Producer: MCA, Massillon, Ohio
    Objective: To provide cross-merchandising opportunities for retailers to promote car batteries in a different department than automotive. This was accomplished by putting display in an actual freezer in appliance department, pointing out batteries' ability to start cars in cold weather and reminding consumers about promotion.

  • Mopar Xpress Parts Center

    Advertiser: Chrysler Motors, Detroit
    Producer: Thomson-Leeds, New York
    Objective: To create a new profit center for Chrysler dealerships and to provide a more appealing environment for consumers to browse and shop. The center is completely modular, permitting dealers to design a configuration that suits available space and customers' buying habits.

  • McDonald's Banner Hardware Kit

    Advertiser: McDonald's Corp., Oak Brook, IL
    Producer: Marketing Displays International, Farmington Hills, MI
    Objective: To invent a means of displaying large banners as neatly as possible (without sags, tears, etc.) while enabling fairly simple advertising updates.

    Advertiser: Pontiac Division, General Motors Corp., Pontiac, MI
    Producer: Design Forum, Dayton, OH
    Objective: To create a retail environment that reflected the cars' exciting image in the dealership facilities. The program needed to (1) complement the product line's high quality, and (2) meet consumers' desire for informative surroundings.
